The Great Divide

Why were you not there that evening
When I really needed you?
Cold prison walls closing in on me,
Stench of feces and urine suffocating me.
A girl,
Snatched from her pearl-covered world
Locked in That Hurl
Why was I not That Girl?

Why were you constantly looking over your shoulder?
Striving to find someone more beautiful, bolder?
While I was standing at your side
Ignorant of the Great Divide
That separated me from The RIde.

Why did you always want to be near me,
To see my face?
You knew I was no longer A Chase?
Why did you bother at all
To make those calls
When you disappear everytime I fall.
