Winter wonderland

Skeleton trees with the sunshine blazing through.
Cobwebs sparkling with drops of frozen dew.
Glistening white frost carpeting the green grass,
dazzling light reflecting from icy window glass.

The deep contrast of the darkness and the light
as the winter’s sun shines so radiant and bright.
Sparkling shrubs dressed with diamond like gems,
each adorned with beautiful sparkling diadems.

Puddles of water transformed into sheets of ice
scattering the sunlight and dazzling the eyes.
The bitter wind of winter so chilling and so cold,
numbing the fingers and toes of both young and old.

Pathways and roads as treacherous as ice rinks,
becoming more slippery as the setting sun sinks.
Dancing snowflakes descending from the clouds,
covering the landscape like great white shrouds.

Stirred by the wind, the snowflakes scatter around
all swirling and twirling as they fall on to the ground.
Each symmetrical flake with a design of its own;
twisting and dancing in the direction it is blown.
