Peace, perfect peace

The lightning flashed
and the thunder clashed
as the rain came hurtling down.

The swelling waters rose
and the fast current flows
over the edge of the steep waterfall.

Down, down so deep it went
in its fast descent
into the swirling pool below.

And there from a bird
a sweet song was heard
as it stood there singing upon a rock.

And amidst the spray
it was heard to say
in sweet notes amongst the noise and din.

“I feel so safe
here in this place
standing firm on Christ my solid rock.”
