Book Buying

went on a spree
book prices aren’t what they
used to be.
grandma and
granddads books
cost fifteen to seventy
five cents.
now they are twenty
four
ninety five.
But they are printed
on acid free paper now
so that when I am dead
my children
or whatever other vulture
(because all children become vultures,
it's part of growing up and old)
can read it and pages
will not stink
or yellow.
