She Was Not Invited To Dine

Tonight again-
Tonight I saw you as you peered
Over the shoulder of the clucking hen,
Who faced me at the table, saw that

Wickedly solemn, to her chattering,
There was a moment then to gaze
On you, who fill the days
With visions and the nights with dreams.
