Color

Oh God, what has happened to our world?
Race against race, color has become the difference
between life and death.
And so I run, afraid of falling victim,
becoming prey because of the color
of my skin.
We are all hunted.
I run faster through the shadows, not knowing
if it is night or day;
faster, faster clutching my lifeless
child.
I wonder if life would be different
if we were all colorblind.
I wonder if Love has a color.
Dear God, what has happened to the
Human race?
We have all become relentless hunters,
and yet we all bleed the same
color.
