Another Grace

The labial sacrifice, O Lord! receive,
Which now, to thee, we for thy mercies give;
Because so fully, whenso-e'er they need,
Thou, with thy creatures, dost thy servants feed!

So plentiful a meal at least demands
Some grateful retribution at our hands,
Though such a favour we deserve no more
Than many, who now beg from door to door.

Let all the mouths which thou with meat hast fed,
Now daily thank thee for their daily bread:
Let us at least for this repast, O God!
For ever thy benevolence applaud!
