In pink mists,
sunflowers aren't seen,
craving sun,
of June noon.
Midday blooms laugh in meadows
of ageless summer!
Sunflower
A Poem By Jiya Doshi, Age 12 Years
I lay on the soft grass,
waiting for the clouds to pass,
and see their unimaginable shapes,
as they put on the Sun golden drapes.
And then I caught sight of heads,
all blond and woven with fine threads,
......
sunflower of night
with petals washed in moonglow
dreaming of the noon
lavishly lovely
wrapped in velvety darkness
in summer's green hour
the warm breezes blow
riffling the golden petals
......
