Bitter Appreciation

Virtuous and pure I stood heedless to forthcoming hazard,
A child of wonder, with stories to tell.
But as I grew, the world unveiled its flaws,
I saw the depths, the hidden chronicles.
The curtain lifted, revealing the truth,
A shattered vision, a distorted society in eyeshot
Injustice prevailing, a constant parade,
Destruction and chaos, man’s amusement.
