Popular Selfishness Poems
Economics of Affection
by Liv Atkinson

What is love but a mutual exchange of selflessness for selfishness’ sake?
Selfishness is the coal that powers the steam engine
That makes our lives chug along the way they tend to do-
Not inherently evil as we have made it out to be.
What is love but that knowledge that maybe,
If he had asked me to,
I’d turn myself inside out for him?
Love is nothing but how much you’re willing to give in order to receive.
Because what is a relationship
But symbiotic capitalization? A reciprocated exploitation?

Weeping Hands
by Christopher Kolmen

If the rose is a beauty that refuse to be held too tight,
Then let me be the hand that bleeds against its thorns.
Weeping as I share its grace with the world.

The Mask of Imortality Breaks
by Leo Warne

I saw him once,
a figure there.
Standing still and watching me,
if only I'd known his plan for me.
But now we are here,
my death and me.
I knew he was there,
but not once did I think for me.
Slowly I sob,
as my last breath leaves me.

Undeniable Truth
by sabari ram

Everyone has their own strength
And their own weakness
Neither they are same
Nor they could be compared.
This is the universal truth
Only a few realize it
And others realize this
But they tend to ignore it.
Some are better at lying
Some are better at denying

God's Other Chance To You
by Christen Kuikoua

Humanity is capable of such beautiful dreams
and horrible nightmares,
For Our World Has a lot For every man’s Dream
but Not Every man’s Greed
So you see this is life greatest rule,
it gives to givers, and takes from takers
Those Full of themselves,
on the outside are often starving on the inside
So as sad as it is,
Many people get Heaven and Hell wrong,

Human blind.
by Steve Sawyer

We live in a world full of blindness,
Everybody is looking,
Yet lacking kindness,
Ignorance has made us all crazy and mindless,
Nobody willing to stand up,
Instead acting spineless,
Evil has spread, And started to become timeless,
people only care that their gadgets are wireless,
It happens more everyday,
And I'm starting to feel tireless.
