Dandelion
by William Jones

On this dandelion I make request
That brave sorrow may be laid to rest.
Desperate pleas from so frail a lung,
Begging for all that ever died so young.
But these seeds—they are not driven
To the blue house of prayers that we call Heaven.

In the ground my wish finds death,
So to another I give my breath.
I wish to meet but one soul

Sonnet 1: Lost Love In The Shadows
by Christen Kuikoua

In distant realms where love's elusive gleams,
I search for traces of what once was true.
A love untamed, lost in forgotten dreams,
A flame once bright, now dimmed and misconstrued.

The path to find this love, wrought with despair,
Obscured by veils of time and circumstance.
Yet in my heart, a flicker, ever aware,
A yearning to rekindle love's expanse.

I said "I love you" and he said "I know"
He said "I'm leaving," and I said "don't go"
I said "Im lonely" and he said "I'm bored"
he pours out some lyrics while I play in broken chords
he said "I love you" and I said "I know"
I said "I'm leaving and he said "please don't go"
please don't go, please don't go
he tells me he loves her as I start to cry
he said "I need you" and I said goodbye.

you melted a hole in my soul that can only be filled with you. so I'm numbing the pain with denial while realty digs at the wounds. I forgot I had to be numb, baby, the scars are just too deep. and I used to be the strong one, baby, but now I'm just too weak. I can feel you so thick in my veins like the drugs I took to forget. I want you to need me like I need you. I need you to remove the knife from my heart that you casually tossed in the back of your closet, while pieces of yours slip through my fingers into the ocean of tears on the floor. I didn't know you'd be the one to consume me, I didn't mean to let you fade. i'm still trying to crawl back inside you but the locks have all been changed. I'm drowning in you and you don't even care. I am helpless, but I'm yours. it's all I ever wanted to be, please live my life for me. had another day of rain from you, but please let me breathe tonight.
