Queen Kong
by Carol Ann Duffy

I remember peeping in at his skyscraper room
and seeing him fast asleep. My little man.
I'd been in Manhattan a week,
making my plans; staying at 2 quiet hotels
in the Village, where people were used to strangers
and more or less left you alone. To this day
I'm especially fond of pastrami on rye.

I digress. As you see, this island's a paradise.
He'd arrived, my man, with a documentary team

The Queen of Hearts
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

The beloved Queen of Hearts was a merry queen, who'd ever loved to bake;
Like confetti midnight stars, sparkling; or the yellow, noon sun, wide awake.

She baked myriad varieties of cookies, and delicious pies of different kinds,
And also scrumptious cakes, so divine; like pure gold, tinted rainbows find.

The king had a cheerful disposition, too, but betimes could be quite stern;
Like the scarlet blossoms, which fail to thrive, before floriculture is learned.

Faithful friends became part of the many faceted court, like tinted bubbles,

A Girl Has Power
by Arshiya Noor

Burn brighter than the fire around you
Take what is yours with fire and blood
Answer injustice with justice
You said he's a scurrilous?
Tell him, "The next time you raise a hand to me will be the last time you have hands."
Scream " Dracarys" and succumb the world of sinisters with your fire.
You're Daenerys Stormborn, the unburnt, the refuser of Patriarchy.
So ask the world to bend their knee.

One who touches your loved one

Goodbye Queen Elizabeth
by Dr. Robert Ippaso

Majesty and Grace, Duty and Forbearance,
Yet who was the woman behind the smile,
A mother, wife whose youthful preference
To live a simpler life among the rolling hills of her beautiful green isle.

Yet fate plays games, it's choices rarely random,
In a time of need this girl it deftly summoned,
The world she knew requested to abandon
To fast become a Monarch worldly wise and seasoned.

I Want To Fall In Love With A Mardi Gras Queen
by Jeffrey Pipes Guice

I wanna fall in love
with a Mardi Gras queen...
Show her a side of New Orleans
that she’s never seen...

Take her to the dark side
of the Marigny...
Show her my real world
without the bourgeoisie...

England's Greatest Pride
by Christen Kuikoua

Your years have been long and beautiful
You Ruled with Power and Might
Your majesty and your reign were not in question
Because God made you our greatest pride
Unfortunately, today you disappeared in the middle of the unknown
But forever, We your people will remember you Our Beloved Queen,
Queen Elizabeth, Long Lived Your Reign,

For you have delivered us from evil
And make us a family,

My Queen
by Jeffrey Pipes Guice

The sun comes up...
The birds start to sing...
It’s a beautiful morning...
I feel like a king...

And Sweet Baby Jane is my queen...

The crisp breeze is subtle...
The crackling brook runs away...
The green grass is moist...
