Paradise Pond

in many gay hues
lilies adorn dark waters ~
peace beauty and grace

a flooded pond

so inviting under twilight
muddy in the day, but crystal clear through the half-light
mirror like and so, so still
the doorway to another life

clear form afar, yet as you approach
reflections turn to black
as you stare into the depth
hoping to see yourself
but there is nothing there
