Reposed in shadows
within a realm of colors
dusty rose gown blurs.
All the flowers she adores ~
as gold love's beamed out of doors.
Green and purple blooms
are always in her warm face ~
'til she sinks in grace.
......
I have had a great many loves in my lifetime,
Which is why I am the star of velvet nighttime;
But my fervor does not involve solely romance,
But also my glimmering, and my celestial dance!
My colors I send sparkling, to the faraway places,
And put happy smiles, upon those midnight faces.
I am born upon meeting, and die at the parting,
For the fire in my blood, often leaves me smarting!
......
Yesterday I was in the parched, red desert, where it pours only seldom,
Bearing joy for varicolored cacti blooms, a silvery shower, very welcome.
This morning I deluged the green, pathless forest, at the dawn of purple.
Tomorrow, wet footsteps will travel, down the tree-lined street of myrtle.
In wild days of ago, my fervor caused floods, as I danced in dewberries;
Then a soft, yellow sun spun rich gold, making cherries and cranberries!
While there is gladness everywhere I go, my sporadic errors humble me,
Like an errant wind which blows off course, tenacious, golden honeybee!
A Paradox once asks to me,
what might love seek out to be,
were he a sensation of inescapable ecstasy erupting in radical hearts,
were he a person where eyes seem to halt and sorrows seem to part ?
the Paradox spewing it's taste, glares at me and,
asks to me,
"Then what shall I make love to be ? "...
.
I swallowed a breath and called to him,
Let love be what the romantics dream,
......
All the hot summer days I am found, sleeping late in my bed,
Dreaming of dusk and getting beauty rest, before sunset red;
For I'm an opal night owl, my scent blooms open all night long.
I am called Mirabilis jalapa, or four o'clocks, adoring birdsong.
I am yellow and deep pink stripes, beloved by hummingbirds,
And grape sun butterflies, when time seems to go backwards.
I keep a daily appointment with destiny, at about four o'clock,
As I love pearly moon more than sun, when dancing in my frock!

I was a zealous environmental scientist, preserving green on our blue planet;
To benefit all animals, plants and people, under sunset skies of pomegranate.
I strived hard to reverse pollution, found in vast seas and in azure, balmy air,
Like waves reversing course, when they did not appear to be going anywhere.
My hourly goal was to help conserve nature, and I was dedicated to that task,
Like nature ever strewing flowers at our feet, although none ever dare to ask!
Fugitive, fuzzy clouds floated far, and favorite friends fluttered by once again,
