Popular Persistence Poems
"A path that circles itself."

In the wheels of the wagon I ride,
I see the truth from whom I hide,
in the blazing circle moving above,
I see myself- all alone.
In the Os and Zeroes, in the loops and holes,
in every circle I see the circle I walk through.
Maybe its a reminder- of the steps I took yesterday,
or maybe a warning- to look at the steps I will take,
Like a hound after its own tail,
my thirst after my success,

You wait in the shadows
to prey on me
to rob my joy
to place obstacles in front of me,
and eclipse the sun

I trip and fall
lying alone in darkness
but there I see a sliver of light.

The House of Fame

I waited outside the House of Fame
as there was nothing else to do.
Then, when nearly all hope seemed lost,
an important woman noticed me there.
She took my hand and said I had promise
before disappearing into a well-lit hall.
Soon afterward, the large doors closed
and it was very dark, and I was cold.
But I could still hear the music playing
and see people dancing on a moonlit balcony.
