Why you standing at the corner
when the room is round
Curtail the curtains
Let the sun hit the ground
It's not gonna melt you, the promise it make
Perhaps want to mould you, the time all it takes
Be the moon and reflect the cold soothing light
Might there be a wallflower holding the corner tight
How many sunrise you missed how many sunsets you let go?
Just passing year by year no memories to show

SONNET XI – The Prayer
by Khayelihle Bongiswa Gamedze

I've seen losers win the race,
I've seen weak ones keep the pace.
I've seen longer shots from way behind,
I've sought a voluble and a voluble was nowhere found.

I made promises, broke them all.
I made golden towers, and I watched them fall.
I made Caesar mine, I made tons of gold.
I sought my book and found my story was never told.

Quite
by Nahid Orko

I wanna take time to think alone
Do I have anything to give anyone?
If you wanna something, you can ask me billion
Or, I am being silent today behind the canyon

In the quiet, I find my peace
As thoughts within me start to release
I search for purpose, I search for meaning
Hoping to find a life worth dreaming

Loser
by Nahid Orko

In the twilight's embrace, people yearn for success,
Beside them, they crave companions of triumph's caress,
Hidden are the tales of failures unknown,
In the shadows, struggles wither, strength overthrown.

The hands of the unsuccessful, burdened they feel,
Nature's resilience seems a distant dream, surreal,
Alone they stand, no one to lend a hand,
Lost in the wilderness, adrift in life's sand.
