At the edge of the water
We light a lantern for two
Watch it rise through the night sky
To make friends with all the stars
That's what they call magic
Took a ride through the wild wood
Blind for a while, we got lost
Then emerged after lifetimes
In a land that time forgot
......
clouds on lake drifting
in the rose forever days
silver glide, geese sun
in puff clouds swimming
until the soaking downpour
red blooms cried for joy
Cottage at the lake
Sunset blooms down by the shore
Spring wandering moon
Glass lake, starlight reflections
of skies that once knew the noon.
asleep in a bloom
on the lake of pearl moonbeams
water lily dreams
green frog in black night
drifting in rock-a-bye dark
where stars make their mark
moonlight tiptoes soft
on cool petals of the pink
......
The grass shall never forget this grave.
When homeward footing it in the sun
After the weary ride by rail,
The stripling soldiers passed her door,
Wounded perchance, or wan and pale,
She left her household work undone -
Duly the wayside table spread,
With evergreens shaded, to regale
Each travel-spent and grateful one.
So warm her heart, childless, unwed,
......
