A mile or two from my happy Malvern home,
Across an old meadow I`ll wander and roam.
An old rickety kissing gate; I venture alone,
Into that ancient forest; two miles from home.
My favourite "two people" are there to greet,
"Flora and Fauna" always a pleasure to meet.
Deeper into the forest; beauty unfolding,
Under natures Umbrella; my breath I`m holding.

In response to a much-quoted saying of Philip Larkin's:....(let others who are not poets)_ f....ked off"
A great modern poet but I don't think this saying is worthy. This I will say: Poetry is the business of the poet primarily but its voice rings universally like a grand symphony. Some paltry poetry I write and it sets me free. No one is cultured who ignores the beauty of poetry
the voices said
there's nothing like
waking up deep into the night
and not hearing any voices
and I believed them
