In shadows deep where quiet whispers dwell,
The water flows with secrets of the past,
A mirror holds the tales that none can tell,
Yet in its depths, our fragile fates are cast.
As flames arise in fervent, wild embrace,
They devour dreams, turn laughter into ash,
While water cools the heat of lost disgrace,
In turbulent streams, our sorrows clash.

The best game the fairies play,
The best game of all,
Is sliding down steeples—
(You know they're very tall).
You fly to the weathercock,
And when you hear it crow,
You fold your wings and clutch your things
And then let go!
They have a million other games—
Cloud-catching's one,

Try to be usefully ever active,
Offer help whenever possible,
Be creative as well as sportive,
God will bless though invisible,
Do something that is superlative,
To make success to you liable,
Let approach be positive,
It will make all schemes viable,
Being confident is imperative,
To achieve tasks so formidable,

We had long, long days to play
When old friendship was sumptuous;
Now, twenty and seven autumns away
I stand, and all gently pass.
Now the bridge stands still
Until white swans come under it
Though they can do to it's fill
And we, sombrely counted unfit.

I thought we were playing a game
in a forest that day.
I ran as my mother chased me.
But she'd been stung by a bee.
Or bitten by a snake.
She shouted my name, which
even as a child I knew was not
"Stop. Please. I'm dying."

It was a childhood day still I remember
It was a childhood day of listening story
About the far-off dune, or about Tiger, Lion and Bear
It was a day to play under sun and rain, not worry
I went to my maternal grand-pa's house
And the day inclined lately, and fast aslept the night.
There, we were clinged to play unto the evening
Or, enjoyed myriadly hung-on cherries.
While climbing everyone on it's string
Saved one, to enjoy it upon ferries;

There was a pond dried with summer heat
Where grew Kashful, long, too long to play;
Under the azure skies, near our school
Happily we spent days beyond the clay- -
Nor we agitated birds, nor did they cheat.
When the surging Cuckoo song in the air
Were played, we the children saw aback
To see, if, there was someone fool
Who could have taken it a musical track
