Divine Longing

You are the air that fills my soul,
The whisper in winds that makes me whole.
Yet human I am, with flaw and stain,
Yearning for purity, escaping pain.

In this love, where mercy overflows,
I find myself, in both highs and lows.
No earthly hand, no fleeting embrace,
But in Your sight, I find my place.

Fatal Flaw

I am my own worst enemy.
I wreak havoc on my own life.
I strike a match and then cry when it burns.
How do I stop the never-ending cycle of pain?
How do I stop the avalanche that is myself?
Can I be reborn from the ashes?
Or am I destined to continue living this self-made hell?

I am Icarus.
I fly too close to the sun and laugh as the wax burns my skin.
