Beginnings Poems
"Where the road ends, the story begins."

Against the balance of society,
opposing the nature and time,
the blank page- awaiting for this long,
meets the first drop of ink of life.
Word are formed, written down one by one,
the waiting period that passed,
never spoken off, just left to the wind.
Expectant is the page, eager is the pen,
only the warm flesh on them knows,
as it trembles and shivers at the unknown.

Tall and wide
and oddly shaped
Primed
Unsacred
Unfinished
Covered in sticky handprints, smudges.
Chipped and dented.
I didn’t dare to or care to remove them

A Light in Smedley park

Amongst the ordinary, you shone with an uncommon brilliance
In the overcast dimness of the grove, you cast a welcoming glow
Enveloped by the chill of the afternoon, you warmed with an inner essence
We talked of Beginnings

We sat at the lake and talked of Beginnings
Difficult to concentrate - with your head thrown back
the sun glistening
on your caramel skin
head to pink-socked toes
You talked of how beginnings always end
Fits of complacency and contempt
Meaning settled on me like thick honey
Wanted to say we were an exception

Phoenix

The sidewalks I was so familiar with are now rushing rivers.
The memories in these corners are fading away.
The air around me burning an invisible fire.
The end is here.
I see myself falling down an invisible cliff.
A never-ending darkness, with a growing fire at the bottom.
A roaring scream erupts as the flames rise to take me far away.
I melted with the fire, igniting my heart into streaks of blues and reds.
I am the fire.
