My fathers daughter

When I look in the mirror, I see you.
I am my father’s daughter, tell me why
I look at you, and feel that I’m untrue.
Simply because if I were you I’d cry.

The smell of liquor stinges my senses,
Constant reminder of how I would live,
Losing all my money on these tenses
Praying every night my kids could forgive.
