My mural is my expansive heart
Tall and wide
and oddly shaped
Primed
Unsacred
Unfinished
Covered in sticky handprints, smudges.
Chipped and dented.

I didn’t dare to or care to remove them

15 Minutes, Justin Case (Story)
by Slava P, aka Maximus Decimus Meridius

Justin Case

Fifteen minutes

Chapter One
Miami, Florida 2:30AM September 11, 2001

Morning in Miami was humid and because of it, it felt colder. In his central air apartment, it didn't feel like this. Justin opened his eyes and waited until he was able to adjust his vision in the dark. He turned his head to the left and looked at the face of his fiancé. She was still sleeping, and air was whispering from her mouth every time she exhaled. He looked at her for about a minute more and with caution moved her hand off his chest and slowly put it beside her. He quietly set down on the bad. He stood up and stretched with his arms up.
“What's going on?” she asked softly yawning without opening her eyes and added “it's time already?”
“No Valera, it's still enough time.” Justin replayed in a whisper, so she wouldn't wake up with him. It would be a disaster he was thinking.

Word as It Is
by Ayatullah Nurjati

Words are real action
The reality is also sometimes stunned by words
Words that Absurd sometimes also have an affair with reality
Reality that plays with phenomena is sometimes not as idealistic as we think

The spirit in the equivalent word chosen as diction may be right next to the norm or ethics
The body in the heart of a word is always meaningful
The spirit that realistic in words is easily co-opted by symbols in the real world
Body of You, me and all of you resides in a name in a word that has special
meaning

The Slick City Streets
by Evelyn Judy Buehler

Recent rain has fallen on the slick city streets,
And redbird has suddenly abandoned the fast life!
Downtown still throbs with the city's heartbeats,
Like vast fields, in the time of red butterflies.

Varicolored and ever-changing, as untamed nature,
In its endless movement, charm, sights and sounds,
As sleek cars whiz past, carrying a hint of danger,
In a merry watery world, which vibrancy surrounds.

Training day
by Francis Shipp

Don’t ever claim that you are unbothered
By this world created from forefathers

Our shared forbearance now has tipped over
Pray rise, prepare to fight for damned closure

Go forth, grab your neighbors, it’s time to start
The combat training for the weak of heart

Bring all who are able to see facade

The Reign of Thornbush
by Aloo Denish Obiero

One day, the trees sought a king,
A ruler their hopes would bring,
In the land where trees stood tall,
But in their quest, a cautionary call.

To the olive tree, they first appealed,
"Be our king," they fervently revealed,
But the olive, revered and grand,
Declined, oil slipping through its hand.
