The Greatest Country in the World

One hundred and forty mass shootings,
Over two hundred lives lost,
One hundred and two days into the year.
We consider ourselves the greatest country in the world,
A country that bans books instead of guns,
Forces women to have children,
Even when their young.
A place people don’t feel safe when leaving home,
Afraid of loaded guns.
How can we say we are the greatest country in the world,
