While the village bleeds

Sounds of yesterday
Echoes of tomorrow
As we pass through the vast of today
Grains of sands blown down the unwritten annuls of history
A history yet memorized and internalized by generations

Those that suffer tribulations
Have rather found meaning in the passage of time
Time in which tears naturally dry up
Anger and rage sweeten and die out
Wherein friends and enemies drink in the river that once divided them

They could've cried
Yet they chose to bear the sword
Survived the bloodied streets
As the emptiness of their today bears no meaning
While the meaning of their tomorrow gives them no comfort now
