Weinacht

In the deep valley
Dew drops from heaven
In the brain and belly
The paths shall be even

A virgin holds the Sun and Moon
In her two hands
There will be peace soon
In all the lands

A child is born under a star
Kings and shepherds greet him
A cool white nenuphar
The moon receives my hymn

I sing the dust on the moon's rim
And the gases of the sun
Great wisdom is in them
Though my praise be done

For the stag wanders in the wood
And the unicorn is stilled
Over the scrambling mud
Go footprints of a child.
