Lifting up a Standard for the People

A banner of hope in a world so feeble,
A symbol of strength in a time of need,
A beacon of light for those who plead.

The world is dark, and the night is long,
The people are weak, and their faith is gone,
But there is a glimmer, a spark of hope,
That can help us all to cope,
Lifting up a standard for the people.

It starts with one, a single voice,
A choice to stand up, to make a noise,
To lift a standard high in the air,
And show the world that we still care.

For too long we've been beaten down,
By the weight of hate and the fear of clowns,
But it's time to rise up, to take a stand,
To lift our heads and raise our hand.

To say that we won't be silenced,
To declare that we won't be cowed,
To show the world that we won't give up,
No matter how hard the road is now.

For we are the people, we are the light,
We are the ones who will make things right,
And we will lift up a standard high,
To shine a light in the darkest sky.

So let us stand together, side by side,
And let our voices be heard far and wide,
As we lift up a standard for the people,
And show the world that we are still equal.
