Once we schlep into Friday
From the hard roads of the weekdays,
Forget it!
The weekend begins
With the emergence of a birth —
Slowly, stealthily.
It's a new day!
Lay down your arms.
Hang up your sorrows.
The war is over.
Don’t call Saturday by its name.
Oh, that’s a polluted cliché!
And it reeks of the gloom of Saturn.
And it’s outdated.
Call it Weekend,
And roll on from there with your new robes.
Trundle with the drumming noise of merriment.
Life is but a one-off late-night show.
