Nature's Bounty

NEARBY WOODS BECKONED
ON THIS HUMID SUMMER DAY
AS I CHOSE A NARROW WEATHERED TRAIL
TO BE MY GUIDE ALONG THE WAY.

BUTTERFLIES BUSILY
EXPLORING FLOWER TO FLOWER
SEEMINGLY OBLIVIOUS TO OTHER CREATURES
ENTERING THEIR SACRED BOWER!

WILD FLOWERS TOO
OF EVERY COLOR, SHAPE, AND KIND
MADE THEIR EFFORTLESS IMPRESSION
UPON MY WEARY MIND

RESTING QUIETLY BY THE RUSTIC WOODLAND STREAM
I THOUGHTFULLY STUDIED THE PEBBLES
THE WATER MADE TO GLEAM

ALL MY SENSES AWAKENED
LETTING GO ALL WORLDLY CARE
I DRANK FREELY OF NATURE'S BOUNTY
DISCOVERING - A TASTE OF BEAUTY - RARE!
