We sing to Him triumphant,
The God who reigns o'er men,
We tell of crimes defiant,
Against commandments ten.
Our race's travail of the night,
Has left us struggling on,
In God Almighty's twilight,
Another hope is born.
All men have kicked and slain us,
Across the narrow way,
From Egypt to Damascus,
Each one has had his day.
But now the tide is turning,
Confusions of the world,
And Christ our Lord is coming,
Our banners to unfurl.
As Egypt gave Him freedom,
By Angel's bidding, once,
We hope to gain the Kingdom,
While angels sing and dance.
We chant the hymn of glory,
And look to God above,
Our heads, though dark and hoary,
Shall claim the Saviour's love.
