Biography of Linda Doris Burton

I am a retired teacher and lecturer. I taught art and English for many years. I then retrained in the early 1990's and went on to teach and lecture in information technology, research and presentation skills. Technology has always fascinated me as I find it a very creative medium. I paint and write and enjoy life to the best of my ability. I mostly enjoy reading and writing poetry. I also enjoy music, buskers, pub sessions, choirs and performances arts. I enjoy the spoken word and attend poetry readings. In my poetry I try to express feelings and thoughts mainly humanistic, political and some nonsense verse. Some of my works are expressed in music and I have begun to write songs. I am a fan of Bob Dylan and other singer songwriters throughout the 20th century. My favourite poets are Emily Dickerson , Gabriel Celaya whose poem Great Moments resonates with me entirely. William Blakes work was the first poetry that I can say I really read and found compelling along with his artworks.
