Thinking Of You

It feels so good to enjoy the fun,
My first encounter with the warmth of the sun,
against my face in early May
as winter's gloom gives way to play.
The signs of crocus and daffodil,
the earth erupts, no longer still.
In early morning I taste the dew,
I hum a tune and think of you.

It feels so good to enjoy the fun
as noonday comes and children run.
Around the land, they leap and slide
feeling free at last to seek and hide.
And trees begin to show they care
bringing beauty and grace, only theirs to share.
As mid day tints with a friendly hue,
I hum a tune and think of you.

It feels so good to enjoy the fun,
knowing for certain it has only begun.
Before too long summer's sure to arrive,
when crickets will sing and butterflies thrive.
Tiny creatures will creep from beneath the ground,
happy that winter is no longer around.
Evening will come with stars to view,
And--I'll hum a tune and think of you.
