Perpetual Doubt (Improvisation 10 26 07)

Into conscious from
Conservatories of the heart
Into spirit forms
Into the arrhythmia of the
Firmament sponged and drawing
God’s love sizes ideas
To naked wholesome likenesses
Into faces that wax less saddened
Than aged into infinite youth
Into spiritual assembly
Stuff inside grows alive
Into new shoes to the outstretch
Of new reach of the new foot
And hand
Into the new spiritual assembly
To the rhythm of people into towns
Grown up into the wise of streets
Carved into cities
Of cosmic proportion
I sense when awakened to my
Surprise beyond sense
A new joy less than the ardor of my
Hope I rise
Does he sleep naked with me?
Trust his perpetual keeping
As Lord and as Shepherd
We must not want
Then must he keep on moving
Over multitudes in perpetual doubt.
