After an autumn rainfall, the leaves shine
In the afternoon light
Heavy with water, they collapse in our hands
Like a house of cards as we watch
The leaves fall onto the grass
Then, the clouds move in once more
And we decided to go back inside
As the thunder roars mightily
We start our own fire with cocktails
And the warmth fills the house
Into a home
