What have we done.

When we have conquered space,
forever left earth a desolate place.
Metal-made caves on another planet,
telling our children!
once we lived in a beautiful place.
Put on your suit, go out to play,
but be careful not to float away.
Look here`s a picture of a tree, a flower a bee,
all things you`ll never see.
To feel the breeze, the warmth of the Sun.
My dear children what have we done.
Man`s greed could never be fed
so many unnecessary lay dead,
man`s greed will never be fed.
WANTING, TAKING, WANTING.
Religion with words of love
enforced by a boxing glove.
I`am become death, Oppenheimer once said,
the destroyer of worlds----
"Wise" leaders patted his back!
just before the deadly attack,
thousands died at the press of a button
thousands burned "lessons not learned".
Oppenheimer you went the wrong way!
all you achieved was death and decay,
Oppenheimer you could have saved the day.
Without humans on earth to destroy,
nature will rebuild for animals to enjoy,
while we sit in metal-made caves
waiting for an "Oppenheimer" to show the way.
Another planet, another day.
Jim Noond.
