To have walked the long road home,
In days gone-by; loved to roam.
To have walked over hill and dale,

To have sheltered from the storm,
To have stretched out in the warm.
To have sat beside the stream,
To have wandered in a dream.

To have walked the road of life,
To have lived through many a strife.
To have left footprints in the snow,
To have left signs of which way to go.

To have had that first kiss,
To have lingered in its bliss.
To have the love of my wife,
To have the love of my life.

To have lived the life I love,
To have loved the life I live
To have hair turn grey from brown,
To have a smile; never a frown.
