Poetry has always been my way of finding myself again—not something one does every day but, rather, like the rare visit of that old friend. This collection marks my return to self-expression, a journey I began as a child filled with wonder.
Life has taken me up and down ever since, and living with major depression and psychosis has at times made me feel very detached from that girl once named me. Rereading my childhood writings stirred that girl who used to be—insecure in her openness to the world, yet wandering and ready to be found again.
These poems are in remembrance of her and a testament to my long journey toward healing and self-recovery. In these, I reach out to any lost soul to remind us that we are still here somewhere, waiting to be found.
