What would you do if it were Christmas
and not an angel would sing,
nor were there any presents
or sweet sounds of caroling.
On the news not a word of
Merry Christmas would be said.
Nor would anyone in the world
eat fruitcake or gingerbread.
The night would be cold.
Thick snowflakes would fall
as if lost and forlorn
And somewhere in Afghanistan
a child would be born
In a stable, just imagine!
The parents have no house.
What do you think? How would this time
the story turn out?
