Biography of Joshua Dansby

It seems like this should be easy… but what I want to say, to me, it sounds cheesy. I like cheese, but we will save that conversation for another time. I digress. So let’s cut to the chase. No, my name is not chase, but I have known a few, and maybe I did Chase them. Do you get it? No? That’s okay. My name is Josh and if you haven’t figured it out, I am joshing you. Probably one of my favorite word plays. But is it a tragedy for one to know that their name is used in that way? I’m not going to go any further with that. I am and always have been and always will be the poet… and probably the one who didn’t know it. Know what? Figure it out. I am still in the dark. I have only published online. And to my knowledge the only recitals I have ever done have been at the Phoenix in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I used to do poetry slams there every Monday night. Sometimes it was difficult as I did not always have money and those were rough times. I have probably written more than I have read, but I have always enjoyed reading the work of others. There is plenty of inspiration there. I love hearing other’s words spoken as well. That is kind of the beautiful thing about art. It expresses the person and allows you to get to know who they are on a personal and sometimes intimate level. It is beautiful. It can also be devastating. Words are like that. I have a problem with rambling sometimes and for that reason, I am going to cut myself off here.
