LIKE THIS POEM
I left my window wide, for Love
To enter while I slept:
The moon his homeward path above,
Her midnight vigil kept.
But suddenly, as o'er a glass,
A clouding vapour spread;
The heavens were cold: and Love, alas,
Before the dawn was dead.
