Bruised Skies of Summer

Blond follicles
are not as thick, or as many
as brunette, black.

Strands of seaweed, bronze,
snake around legs like eels pissade
through seas- violet

green tints-smarmy. Stick.
Bruise colored sky washes
pallid skin; transparency

of Man-O-Wars gleam
on the beach. Terrify. Crawl.
Crumpled towels-

auroral colors
ablaze- stoked earlier
for adoration

of Summer. In which
glistens the rhombus: heavens,
garden scents. Birth

of petals, rainbow
dragonfly wings, seagull plumes
against royal skies.

Portrait paints golden
burns. Ocean deep fractures-
laughter-tossed. Nabbed.
