There was a time...
When monuments were raised to great leaders...
Men and women of strong character...
People of great intellect and purpose...
Generals and scholars...
Spiritual and charitable...
A once beautiful and healthy city...
Vibrating with glorious festivals...
Of life, culture and community...
Families dancing with other families...
People of all walks of life...
celebrating as one, loving people...
There was a time...
When the simple minded people...
Elected bottom feeder politicians...
Men and women of weak moral fiber...
Raised on generations of fear and hate...
Carpetbaggers, pimps and community activists...
Godless, soulless and thieves...
Now the monuments say nothing...
As the soul is sucked out of the spirit...
Hollow screams from abandoned babies left to the care of tired grandmothers...
In a lost and deserted city...
There was a time...
When the past was removed and a future lost...
Destroyed in the name of cultural sensitivity...
The new normal...
Soon to be abandoned by the very politicians and community activists who stole our soul...
