Here comes Peter Cottontail...
Runnin’ down dat nasty bunny trail...
Got himself in trouble and thrown in jail...
Poppa Rabbit finally paid the bail...

Chasin’ bunny tail is such a terrible habit...
Every bunny that hops by, he’s gotta grab it...
Whether old or young, he’s gotta have it...
Peter has turned into the Prodigal Rabbit...

Peter turned up at the door one night...
He was drinkin’ at the bar and gotta lil’ tight...
Told Poppa Rabbit he started a terrible fight...
Said he needed some quick cash to catch the next flight...

Poppa said “Peter, you’re just a damn fool!
You never should have dropped out of Easter Bunny school!
Chasing all the bunnies and trying to be so cool!
You smell like skunk and your fur is covered in stool!”

Peter started crying and said “I’m sorry, Dad...
No matter what I do, it just makes you sad...
I just like the bunnies and I got it real bad...
If I deliver Easter eggs will you stop being mad?”

Poppa Rabbit hugged Peter and he said “Oh, it’s okay!”
He took Peter to enroll into school the very next day...
Graduated first in his class and Poppa is proud to say,
“That’s my boy, Peter Rabbit! Happy Easter Anyway!”
