Cancerous urban decay…
It’s taking over my beloved city…
The politicians truly don’t care…
Collecting more taxes and sitting pretty…

The infrastructure is totally failing…
They kick the can down the road…
Our children’s children’s children…
Will be left to inherit the load…

The politicians are becoming slum lords…
Refusing to repair the blight…
As New Orleans slowly becomes…
A lost city of crime and fright…

As the haves become the have nots…
As the middle class joins the poor…
Our children’s children’s children…
Are all running for the exit door…
