I dipped the sun into the ocean;
When the steam cleared, it was the moon.
So things stood right in its beams
still seem half-hidden,
wet with something blue.
I am just enough the dark to see,
too little the deeds within it to be.
Thus the honest beneath me breathe
The thrill sans threat of conspiracy.
Sun? Too eager to share me,
and my mood to tell me!
Shade? Too eager to hide me
and of hue deprive me!
Give me Shade and Sun knit
Together, half the world in darkness,
As Moon ever leaves it
To be the color that my heart is
