Raven

How does the Raven fly?
Feet like crooked branches that hang off the old fir tree,
Wise Raven can you even speak? Do you have a song for me?
Eyes so deep I feel cold,
Do you Raven even own a soul?
Feathers as dark as night,
Your body that of taconite,
Your wings like black velvet as you glide by
How does the Raven fly?
I feel you may soon take flight,
But not before the storm has passed by,
Only then will you take to the sky,
How does the Raven fly?
Your beak so hard it pierces that of stone,
So I know there is no problem with you going through bone,
Wise Raven do you mean to be so stern?
Is your heart one to be earned?
Is there really a dove under all that soot?
Do you have any beauty worth seeing?
Or do you plan to keep it all hidden from me?
I hear your gentle cry,
How does the Raven fly?
The time approaches for you to take your leave, Do you have a farewell for me?
I see you shed a single tear,
My dear Raven there is no need to be in fear,
As you get set to fly, always know
That this is not our last goodbye.
How does the Raven FLy?
