What kind of monsterous mind,
Could call this a design?
It’s a pattern that’s hideous,
And also perfidious.
To me it’s distasteful,
The quite opposite of beautiful.
Why, there is only lines,
No curves, it’s boring as a mine.
This pattern, I abhor (it’s a word I looked up)
Why doesn’t it have any spots?!
Whoever did not add any polka dots,
Deserves to be tied up on spot.
Held behind this prison gate,
It’s the pattern which I hate.
It is the name,
Of an unfortunate game.
And it is called Checkers.
