A Country Parade

This turned out to be a perfect day.
to have a parade with many surprises all the way.
There were lots of mounted horses, even miniature mules,
seven llamas that walked proudly exactly to their cues.
Many vintage cars, fire truck and Smokey the Bear,
it was so exciting to see, and many people were there.
The streets lined with visitors young and old,
there were candies thrown from vehicles, a sight to behold.
To take care of feeding hungry, there was a hot-dog stand.
Two boys driving along the street calling "Sodas for fifty cents".
To have the perfect atmosphere there was a mariachi band,
the sound of these songs was oh so grand.
Homemade floats gave the parade that special touch,
with such nice people on them, for all of us to watch.
This is a small hamlet where the parade took place,
where neighbors and strangers still say "Hi", with a happy face.
The parade was just long enough, the time it lasted.
All was under control and went well,
so we will look forward to next year I can tell.
