On a bright fall day from my window clear,
Activity and calm was the same and quite near.
From around Johnson Bend on our much traveled street
Was an average gray car as many in fleet.
It came into view of my vacant stare,
And seemed to stand out both driver and there.
To my surprise, the car signaled and left turn,
And blinked in my driveway as if habit past learned.
I quickened my step for a better look,
And to my delight like a rose on a book
Was my wife calm, her beauty, in spirit and view,
A presence rekindled of past joys anew.
Her looks were pensive and in pleasant accord
Of daily activities with joy and reward.
Her voice was melodic as she said so clear,
"Your love has arrived, is supper ready dear?"
