Born May 14, 1953 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to parents Ernest Austin Huckabone, Jr. and Nancy Margaret Binder Huckabone. She lived her early life on a farm in Kane, Pennsylvania and later in Johnsonburgh, Pennsylvania and Waukegan, Illinois. The family moved to Florida when she was in first grade and settled in the small town of Sanford, Florida.
Her parents read adult novels and she would get in trouble as a youngster for sneaking them from the bookcase and reading them. Her parents were responsible for introducing her to poetry around age eight and she wrote her first poem at age twelve while in the sixth grade in parochial school. She entered it into the class poetry contest and won first place.
She graduated from Seminole High School in May , 1971 having had the honor of editing the school literary magazine for which her suggested title 'Eclat: was used. Both her poems and short stories were published in it.
She published her first poem in December, 1974 in a publication at Lucerne Publishing Company in Orlando, Florida and was paid very well for it. They bought all rights to it and she became a professional writer. Since that time, her work has been published both on and off line much of which appearing as magazine verse.
